I *think* I first saw this brand on Chantal's Instastories and was immediately drawn in by the fun packaging and when I heard that these were found at Walmart, I made a point of heading down to my local Walmart one weekend and found my way into the beauty section! There was an entire WALL of Soo'Ae masks and I always have to take a deep breath everytime I see a fresh wall of masks because unlike makeup, I look at EVERY SINGLE MASK. The masks retailed anywhere from $4-$7 and I picked up around $65 worth. I didn't think it was too much damage, but when my husband saw how much they all cost, I saw the look in his eyes...
This is a biocellulose mask, so a very hydrating mask sheet, targeted for the neck and decollete area and contains fun ingredients like coconut water and coconut fuit juices, ginkgo biloba leaf extract and birch extract as well as a number of amino acids closer to the bottom of the list, but is something I do not see very often. Amino acids tend to be included in products for an extra boost of hydration so it seems fitting for this particular mask since the skin around the neck does not product a lot of sebum hence the potential "chicken neck" that can happen as we age.
Upon taking the mask out out of the package, I was immediately greeted with a ton of essence. Like more than I have ever seen from any sheet mask! There was so much left behind in the package that I was able to use it TWICE as full body moisturizer! The mask itself felt a little weird to apply in this neck and chest area as the only way I can describe the experience and sensation is like putting on a wet turtleneck? It doesn't sound pleasant and in all honesty, didn't feel that pleasant either though none of the sensations were THAT unexpected.
I always imagined a decollete mask to go a bit lower than my collarbone so I really see this mask as more of a neck mask than anything else. The flaps that wrapped around my trapezius muscles kept flopping forward whenever I moved, but other than that, the rest of the mask stayed in place for the 25 minutes I wore it.
Final verdict: I understand that masks like this are really more preventative than anything, but while the results left my neck area quite hydrated, the stickiness was quite uncomfortable. I don't like having a sticky neck because my long hair gets stuck in the essence so while I think the idea of mask like this is cool, for this particular part of my body, I would rather use a neck cream or serum which just absorbs nicely more consistently than a mask like this one.

You know I hadn't intended on writing a blog post about this mask. I was just going to post a photo on Instagram, do a "micro-review" and call it a day, but I have since decided that because this is a style of mask I have NEVER tried or featured on Cosmetic Proof, it seemed appropriate to share my first experience with the brand Korean beauty brand Soo'Ae!
